Musson (Jamaica) Ltd. is the successor to the SP Musson Son and Company Limited which was established in 1820 and has been trading in the Caribbean since that date. It was one of the original 6 companies that went on to form Barbados Shipping and Trading Limited. The Jamaican arm was bought out by senior management, led by Desmond Blades, and resulted in the setting up of Musson (Jamaica) Ltd itself in 1963. For most of its life, Musson has been a central player in the business of food distribution within Jamaica. From this base, the group has grown, by acquisition, and organic growth into a diversified conglomerate with interests in manufacturing, insurance, food distribution, pharmaceutical distribution, telecom distribution, real estate brokerage among other areas. Today, the Musson Group (Musson Jamaica Limited, together with its subsidiaries and associate companies) operates in Miami, Jamaica, across the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific, as well as Europe.;; Acme Spices produce its own Acme branded spice products. Using lean manufacturing techniques, and the latest ingredients, mixes Acme also;; The Ketchup Plant is a manufacturing plant for Tomato Ketchup. Its exports, and contract packs for private labels.;; Musson Food Factory produces canned food products for a variety of private labels in Jamaica, in addition to the well known Big Bamboo drink.;; The company was relocated in May 1979 to its present location and is the producer and manufacturer for some of the Leading distributors in Jamaica.;; A publicly listed entity involved in the manufacturing of Oils, Fats and Corn based products for Jamaica as well as for the export markets.
