F W Woolworth & Company Limited, a UK company opened its first store in Jamaica in 1954 at 83-85 King Street, Kingston. In 1987, the Jamaican Woolworths business was bought and in 1991 turned it into a franchise operation giving the franchises to the incumbent managers. Today Woolworth caters to a wide audience and is a retail store offering a huge variety of goods. We are also associated with the following brands Meads and helix. F W Woolworth & Co (Ja) Limited (known as Woolworths) is a retail company that came to Kingston, Jamaica in 1954 as a subsidiary of Woolworths United Kingdom. Opening its first store on King Street in Downtown, Kingston. In 1960 they opened a store in Cross Roads and in 1961 in Montego Bay. In 1989 the Jamaican company was bought by the current General Manager at the time. Subsequently stores were opened in May Pen, Mandeville, Spanish Town and Ocho Rios. In 1991 the company was franchised to the incumbent Managers. During the period from 1991 to present time some stores were closed and some were opened. Seven locations to serve you better: 1. Cooking ware such as pressure cookers, pots, crockery set, cutlery and glassware. We sell clothing (T-Shirts, panties, briefs, socks) and footwear for men, women and children. We offer a wide range of products for babies as well. We have stationery, seasonal cards and souvenir items. We offer a huge range of small appliances such as, kettles, irons, toaster and fans.
