Kingston Bookshop continues to live up to its tag line ….all you need to know. For almost four decades (since 1974) this company has been providing Caribbean peoples in gene ral and Jamaicans in particular, with basic requirements for an education – books and stationery. In the last decade KB has brought its patrons face to face with the world of the internet through the setting up of cyber centres in a number of our retail stores. These stores also offer laminating and binding services to facilitate improved presentation of school projects, documents, etc. The company serves its Jamaican clientele through eight retail stores and a Stationery Centre. Seven of the eight stores and the Stationery Centre are located in Kingston the eighth store is in Spanish Town, breaking a 30-year corporate area monopoly. The newest retail store is The Script – which represents a new trend in the business. This store is located at the Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts and is c atering primarily to the college community. KB enjoys the privileged position of being the leading suppliers of educational textbooks in the Caribbean and the flagship store located at 70b King Street holds primary place as the store selling most school texts in the region. Although the KB chain is best known as †oethe place for school texts †?? (and we are #1 there!) the stores also stock a wide variety of other reading materials, stationery items and unique gifts. Of equal importance is the fact that the company maintains its ‘best price ’ policy because of its untiring efforts at sourcing products at ‘best prices ’ while at the same time ensuring quality product.
